This is a small team with only three members. However, all three members are graduate students in computer science, which makes a big difference. This is the first time that Cal Poly has competed in any cluster competition and they’re doing a great job so far.
Nailing down second place in the HPC Pop Quiz got them off to a good start, and they turned in a middle of the pack performance on HPL/HPCG. They gained steam on the ORNL, NASA, and AWS challenges and are currently sitting in what looks like a safe fourth position going into the interview. Nice work, Cal Poly, great to have you.
