This is the second time we’ve had two teams from California State University Channel Islands. This team features not one, but two veterans from both last year’s competition, but also from SC22. They’re unique for another reason as well – they feature the very first married couple to compete in any student cluster competition, wow.
In the video, we get to know the team and what makes them tick. Along with the typical banter, we talk about what they’re looking to do after graduation, the good news is that they’re looking at HPC-related careers, although they don’t realize it yet. In other words, they’re talking about things like machine learning, cybersecurity, etc., which is right in the HPC wheelhouse. I try to poach one of the team members into looking at an internship in HPC rather than being a ‘scrum master.’ We’ll see what happens.
